Nirvana
Nirvana is one of the big band era in the inheritance of 90, that fact can not be denied, in the year 1994 officially disbanded along with the death of Kurt Cobain’s discoverer.
History of Nirvana at the start by meeting Kurt Cobain (Guitar / Vocals) and Krist Novoselic (Bass) via Buzz Osboume (leader of the group The Melvins) in Aberdeen (near Seattle) in 1985. Despite having different family backgrounds (family Krist quite harmoniously while Kurt’s parents have divorced), they both like the music of hardcore punk. Kurt has ever joined a punk band called fecal Matter then formed Stiff Woodies with Krist. At that time Kurt played drums and bass hold Krist.
Outstanding guitar and vocals filled by additional players before Kurt decided to become a guitarist as well as vocalists. Together with drummer Aaron Burkhart, the name change becomes Stiff Woodies on Skid Row, and the change again in 1987, after a year before Aaron Burkhart came out and was replaced by Chad Channing.
Nirvana then made ten demos with producer Jack Endino that offer these demos to Jonathan Poneman, co-founder of Sub Pop label (with Bruce Pavitt). In December 1988, Nirvana was released by Sub Pop’s first single, entitled Love Buzz 70′an year’s rock group from the Netherlands, Shocking Blue. The single was quite successful, so immediately released Nirvana’s first album debut of Bleach (1989) and costs only 600 dollars. Slowly but surely Bleach became a hit on radio stations on campus and consistently Nirvana toured with second guitarist Jason Everman although his name is written on the cover of the tape but did not play in one lagupun. Jason then left joined Nirvana and Soundgarden and then Mindfunk.
Bleach sold about 35,000 copies and became the favorite album at the campuses. After the release of the single Sliver, Dive with Butch Vig and Mudhoney drummer Dan Peters, Dave Grohl (ex-hardcore band, Scream), signed in and a permanent drummer in Nirvana. They then worked on her second album titled Nevermind under the giant label Geffen Records which was released in September 1991.
Then the song called Smell Like Teen Spirits singles from the album Nevermind was successful weight. Continuous video playing in one of the music station MTV and break through the Top Ten U.S.. Ditangga album Nevermind album’s beat even Michael Jackson (Dangerous) and simultaneously reached triple platinum. Not only the music industry in surprise by such a huge success, but also the personnel of Nirvana itself. They do not seem ready mentally to accept that success.
Their popularity make three depressed and began acting strange with the stage action that always ends with the destruction of musical instruments on the stage. This pressure also makes Kurt close to the damn drugs. Marriage Kurt with Courtney Love (Hole) in 1992, did not improve the situation. Kurt increasingly addicted to drugs, even in preach Love are also taking drugs during pregnancy fucking their daughter, Frances Bean. Nirvana is not a personal problem to make a new album, instead they released Incestiside (1992) which is a collection-a collection of old singles.
New in 1993 they released the album In Utero with produses Steve Albini. The album was successful in the market with the Hits Heart shaped Box and All Apologies. Nirvana’s success was not followed by recovery Kurt, Kurt increasingly immersed in depression and several times tried to commit suicide. Peak, Kurt reportedly died of suicide with fire in his own head in April 1994.
The death of Kurt Krist and Dave made decided to dissolve Nirvana. Previously, they were planning to release the album MTV Unplugged (1994) and From Muddy Banks of the Wishkah (1996) for a live version. Two former members of Nirvana and then form a new group. Krist form the trio Sweet 75 and Dave was the guitarist and vocalist Foo Fighters.
